![]() ![]() In the confines of peeling wall paint and flickering bulbs, Agent Athreya and his assistant Sneha (Shruti Sharma) solve cases that are clearly beneath him, but it's all he can get. Agent Athreya (Naveen Polishetty) is a detective grieving his dead mother and running a detective agency called FBI (you will want to watch the film to know why it's named as such) from a vegetable market in Nellore. This is exactly why Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya is the kind of film that needs to be seen with a story that needs to be told. There will be no feel-good moments to make your chest untighten when the gristly core of the story shows it face nor there any relief at the end to make it seem that everything is right in the world. This is not the kind of film that will pander to a commercial audience, nor is it the kind of film which will allow itself to be diluted with unnecessary tropes. There were little cons but that's negligible consider how power-packed the whole movie is, it's a must watch for everyone and I hope there's more to come from Naveen and Swaroop for the Telugu Film Industry.Īgent Sai Srinivasa Athreya is a brilliantly executed, no nonsense film which makes it clear from get-go about the kind of story it wants to tell. The exposition in the film feels justified and that's not very common in Tollywood. The pace of the film was so good that you can't think of anything else or search for goofs. The screenplay was tight, always keeps you guessing till the end, lots of twists which don't seem to be coming. It was good to see Suhas as the Kannada version of Agent (although he could've been used better). Coming to the performances, Naveen just nailed it, the way he balances humor, emotion, and intelligence is commendable. However, the sad thing remains that the film is unable to reach that set of audience. So thankful to Naveen for bringing this brilliant mystery to Telugu audience and dealing with a subject that's making a fool of the innocents. As a fan of detective/thriller movies, I couldn't miss this and I'm even more surprised by how much I loved this movie which usually doesn't happen when I watch a hyped movie.
